Through a combination of my professional experience and training as a teaching fellow, I believe in raising student academic achievement in Science. During my college education I was inspired by my science professors. They taught me valuable lessons in pedagogy and made me realize how teaching a subject like science requires you to explore topics through “hands-on” research.

During my career in science, I have volunteered with the Smithsonian Natural History Museum working on the creation of a phylogenetic tree for nemertea species and worked in a systematics laboratory running polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis to collect genetic information on legume species, documenting the biological diversity of the Guiana Shield.
